Description:
This qualification is the ideal introduction to understanding the principles of health and safety in a construction environment. This qualification is typically undertaken by those with no previous qualifications or experience of health and safety, however can be taken as a refresher also. The qualification supports an individuals application for a CSCS card.
This qualification will prepare learners for the CSCS Health and Safety test and applying for their CSCS card. Once learners have obtained their card, they will be able to seek employment in the Construction Industry.
Subjects:
Risk assessments and method statements, common causes of work-related fatalities, reporting accidents and near misses, risk assessments, safe manual handling in the workplace, employee’s responsibilities under current legislation and official guidance, hazards and potential risks, working at height, types of asbestos waste, safety of workers where moving plant, machinery or equipment is in use. Certification:
This qualification is available to those over 16 years. Learners should be at least a level 1 numeracy and literacy or equivalent. The MCQ paper will be taken under examination conditions, i.e. learners will sit a minimum of 1.25 metres apart, will not confer during the examination and no electronic devices (such as mobile phones) or books, including dictionaries, will be permitted.
